Accredited courses (marked "Nationally Recognised") lead to a Statement of Attainment recorded against your USI. Non-accredited assessments are a skills-check service that gives you a results report — they don't lead to a qualification.
Yes, for any nationally recognised course — it's a legal requirement for all nationally recognised training in Australia. You can create one free at usi.gov.au. A USI is not required for non-accredited assessments.
Choose your course, pick an available date on the live calendar, then pay securely online. Your place is confirmed the moment payment goes through — there's no separate account sign-up or waiting for approval.

You gain access to online materials immediately at checkout, so course fees aren't refundable once you've enrolled. You can reschedule your in-person session free of charge with more than 24 hours' notice — less than 24 hours' notice (or after your session starts) incurs a 50% rescheduling fee, unless you have a legitimate reason with evidence (e.g. a medical certificate). For blended courses, yes — you must complete the online learning and knowledge quiz before attending your in-person session, and you can't pass the course without attending it. Check the specific course page for any physical requirements (for example, HLTAID012 requires you to be able to perform CPR in a kneeling position on the floor for 2 minutes).

The Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF) describes performance levels across reading, writing, oral communication and numeracy. Level 2 is a common benchmark used by employers, including family day care organisations, to confirm a candidate has the core skills needed for the role before proceeding with recruitment.
